Who We Are
KARUNA
I’m Funda, aka Karuna, founder of The Dagh. My life has taken me through loss, struggle, motherhood and more than one new beginning. Those experiences led me to search for other ways of understanding myself and living, and that search became a lasting passion.
Over the years, I’ve studied with teachers in different parts of the world, exploring traditional yoga, breath, the body, family systems, shamanic traditions and art therapy. I bring what I’ve learned and lived together to create, shape and lead the gatherings at The Dagh.
I believe life can change when we begin to see beyond the stories we’ve come to live by. That experience and belief guide what we do here, alongside the other parts of being alive: rest, pleasure, play and laughter.
Mert
I’m Mert, also known as the man of the mountains. I’ve been living here for eight years. The earth, the wood, the wind, the rain and the snow have become my most valuable teachers.
I’ve been part of The Dagh since its earliest days, caring for the house, the land and all that keeps life here moving. Most days, you’ll find me outdoors, working with soil, wood and plants. When people gather, I’m usually somewhere in the background, quietly taking care of what’s needed, from starting a fire to maintaining the house. I do it with great pleasure.
I’m also drawn to the deeper meanings of words, interpreting dreams and the simple pleasure of sharing time with those who find their way here.
Nilay
I have always been curious about myself and drawn to understanding the invisible bonds that shape our relationships. At the heart of this search has always been one simple question: Who am I?
In 2012, I discovered Family Constellations and began training with Svagito Liebermeister, attending his trainings and courses over the years. I also worked alongside him as his interpreter for many years. Through further training with other teachers, I continued to explore family systems and the invisible bonds that connect us.
Today, I believe that finding our inner voice is not only about looking back, but also about making room for joy and creativity. At The Dagh, Karuna and I want to share what we have gathered along the way and create space for meaningful gatherings and honest conversations.

MAVİŞ
I’m Maviş. My family found me in this village when I was three months old, and the mountain has been home ever since. I can be a bit timid, very affectionate, and sometimes quite loud. I love lounging outside and playing with Wardha, and I win over every visitor with my irresistible charm.

Vardha
I came to this village from Istanbul when I was six weeks old; as a large Turkish Kangal Shepherd dog. I love winter, the outside garden and roaming freely across the land at night. I may look imposing, but I am gentle-hearted, innocent and a little mischievous — I might hide your shoes, though I would never deny that Maviş is the one truly in charge.
